Choose the right cornhole bracket for the time and boards you have.
The best format balances guaranteed play, event duration, available boards, and how easily players can understand their path.
Single elimination
Fastest and easiest to explain. A loss ends the team’s run, making it a strong choice for large fields or limited venue time.
Double elimination
Teams receive a second chance through the consolation side. It improves fairness but adds games and requires careful board pacing.
Triple elimination
Provides more guaranteed play and a deeper recovery path, but can significantly increase duration.
Round robin
Every team plays a defined group of opponents before standings or playoffs. It works well when guaranteed games matter more than the shortest finish.
Use the board count
Estimate concurrent capacity before choosing a format. More guaranteed games only feel valuable when the venue can keep them moving.
